Dr. Edgar B. Hatrick, III, Vice Chair

Dr. Edgar B. Hatrick III served as Superintendent of the Loudoun County Public School system from 1991 to 2014. He received his doctorate and master’s degrees in education from Virginia Tech and his bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Richmond.

A 1963 graduate of Loudoun County High School, Dr. Hatrick began his career as an English teacher in that same high school in 1967.  He later became Chair of the English Department and Assistant Principal at Broad Run High; Principal of Loudoun County High, then Director of Special Education, Guidance Supervisor, Foreign Language Supervisor, Director of Instruction, and Assistant Superintendent for planning and pupil services.

Highly praised and much honored, Dr. Hatrick is credited with playing a key role in making Loudoun County’s public school system a role model for not only Virginia, but the entire United States. He was awarded the Loudoun Laurels Laureate award in 2013.
