Sumeet Saini

Loudoun Laurels Foundation Scholar 2016-2020

Sumeet Saini has been with Arlington Economic Development for nearly two and a half years and currently serves as a Business Development Manager in the Business Investment Group. His responsibilities have grown to encompass standing up a $1 million flagship company support program dubbed the Arlington Innovation Fund (“AIF”), managing the County’s local and state-level incentive portfolio and representing Arlington at international business events.

Prior to joining the team at Arlington, Sumeet obtained a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Minors in National Security and Middle East North Africa Studies from Christopher Newport University, graduating in the Spring of 2020. Throughout his college career he engaged in field research studies, worked with the City of Newport News’ Economic Development Authority, and was involved in residence life as a Resident Assistant. Shortly after graduating Sumeet began working full-time at North Spring Behavioral Healthcare in Leesburg as an Auditing Specialist while simultaneously working at Movere.ai, a Richmond-based tech startup as a Business Intelligence and Operations specialist. He would find his current employer Arlington Economic Development, in the summer of 2021.

Sumeet continues to grow personally and professionally, participating in local rec leagues, community events and continuing to travel for both work and leisure. He is currently enrolled in a certificate program with University of California, Berkeley’s Law Program to learn about the fundamentals of venture capital, deal flows, and corporate structure. He also has recently become a member of the Virginia Economic Developers Association, a professional development and thought-leadership organization focused on sharpening the skillsets of economic developers throughout the state.
